Environment / War on Darkness Before the regional conflicts over diminishing resources begin, we must take a leadership role in The War on Darkness.  We must mobilize a national response, and then engage the world through the United Nations and other international institutions in a coordinated international response.  We must lead, politically, diplomatically, scientifically -- because there is no other nation with our capabilities.  We need huge investments in basic science, engineering, and infrastructure replacement.
